As a cultural and civic leader, I have spent most of my career building and stewarding institutions that reflect and inspire the communities that surround them. I oversaw the centennial reopening of the Freedom Tower, and the development of its new permanent exhibition as a tribute to Miami's Cuban American and immigrant communities. I founded FIU CasaCuba as a premier center for the study and preservation of Cuban heritage. I led the Miami Book Fair and the Miami Film Festival, and other cultural organizations, as Executive Director of Cultural Affairs of Miami Dade College. Currently, as Associate Executive Director and Chief Strategy & Development Officer at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, I help lead the creation of a thriving cultural campus in the heart of Miami. My commitment is not only to preserve and expand our historic landmarks, but to help them evolve and realize their full potential as anchors of our local heritage.
